Think Pink – Think Candy Gum
When I think of candy gum, I think of one: Bazooka. Talk about retro-candy! Do you remember wanting Bazooka bubble gum just because of Bazooka Joe? Bazooka Bubble Gum is no different. Bazooka Candy Bubble Gum came into being shortly after the war.
After a little research, I found that the name of Bazooka Bubble Gum was not named after the armor piercing weapon used in WWII, but was named after Bob Burns, the entertainer. What about Bazooka Joe? Did you also know that up until 1970, the price of Bazooka Gum did not increase? Remember penny candy? As the flavors progressed, so did the packaging. The American color scheme notwithstanding, Bazooka bubble gum is sold in many countries, often with Bazooka Joe comic strips translated into the local language.

In order to increase consumer demand products are being introduced in many new flavors, packaging styles and offering features such as health improvement and enhanced energy it is becoming the medium to transfer desired additives to the consumers such as Green Tea and Ginseng for energy.

Candy Gum Recipes
These mouth-puckering candy gum can be made in any flavor you desire, but I would recommend trying to match complimentary Jell-O and Kool-Aid flavors. The Kool-Aid can be increased to a full package if an extra sour flavor is desired. To make a sugar-free candy, substitute sugar-free Jell-O.
Cook Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients:
3 envelopes unflavored gelatin
2 packages Jell-O, any flavor
1 cup water
1/2 package Kool-Aid, any flavor
Candy gum preparation:
1. Prepare an 8×8-inch pan by spraying it lightly with cooking spray. Alternately, you can use sprayed candy molds to make gummy shapes.
2. Place the water in a small saucepan over medium-high heat and bring to a boil.
3. Immediately add the Jell-O, Kool-Aid, and gelatin and stir vigorously until it has all dissolved.
4. Pour the candy into the prepared pan, or spoon it into the prepared molds. Place in the refrigerator to set for approximately 20 minutes.
5. Candy can be cut into worms, squares, or shapes using cookie cutters.
